ECHO

Distributed sensor platform. From signal to understanding
Communications and sensor systems
Research
ECHO is Darlein Defense’s family of autonomous multi-sensor systems for observing the physical environment, detecting changes, and processing data intelligently.

About the project

The platform combines acoustic, seismic, optical, and hydroacoustic sensors, local computing modules, and software infrastructure for event analysis.
From a single sensor to a distributed observation network — ECHO is designed to combine information from multiple sources into a unified picture of what is happening.
Integration with HEX, AGATA, and ELZA forms the basis for transmitting, visualizing, and examining the collected data.

Know what’s happening around you

One signal is an observation. Several sources mean more context
The environment constantly generates a vast amount of information: sound waves, vibrations, visual changes, and other physical phenomena.
A single sensor can register a limited set of parameters. However, one measurement is often not enough to establish the cause of an event or assess its significance.
ECHO is designed to combine observations from different types of sensors, compare them with historical data, and generate structured information about the detected changes.
The system should not simply record signals but help distinguish significant events from background changes, while preserving the original measurements and information about observation conditions.

Observation, communications, and analysis

Three levels of a unified information system
01 / 03

HEX

Communications infrastructure
Compatible ECHO devices are designed to connect to the HEX distributed network infrastructure.
Event records, diagnostic information, and other authorized data are transmitted through the available communication interfaces.
02 / 03

AGATA

Unified visualization environment
AGATA is designed to display connected sensor devices, their technical status, and incoming events in a single software interface.
Information can be presented on a map, on a timeline, or in a dedicated dashboard.
03 / 03

ELZA

Intelligent analytics
ELZA is designed to analyze accumulated measurements, study historical patterns, detect anomalies, and generate analytical reports.
Results should be accompanied by information about the source data, limitations, and how well supported the conclusions are.

Device management
01 / 04
1
Reliability assessment
Not every signal means a confirmed event
ECHO is designed to display measurement quality, observation conditions, and the confidence level of algorithmic classification.
Inferred analysis results must be kept separate from directly recorded physical data.
02 / 04
2
Multi-sensor analysis
Different sources. A single data format
Acoustic, seismic, optical, and other measurements can be converted to a unified format for further study.
This makes it possible to compare different physical parameters and analyze how they change.
03 / 04
3
Event history
Every observation becomes part of the accumulated data
The system is designed to store timing characteristics, measurements, diagnostic information, and related event records.
Historical data is used to study trends and test analytical hypotheses.
04 / 04
4
Device management
A single registry of sensor infrastructure
The software tools are designed for inventory of compatible devices, display of component status, software version management, and technical diagnostics.

Modular platform

One architecture. Different sensor configurations
ECHO is being developed as an extensible hardware and software system.
Unified interfaces should enable the integration of compatible sensors, computing modules, and software components.
The planned architecture provides for
Modular hardware configurations
Documented connection interfaces
API for integrating external systems
Hardware diagnostic tools
Support for local data storage
Centralized configuration management
Ability to develop specialized software extensions
Open integration interfaces make it possible to view ECHO as a technology foundation for various observation and measurement systems.

A shared picture of events
